Turning a Crochet Hook by Glenn Feltis
January 2019 Meeting
This was an excellent demonstration! As you can see by the people crowded around the lathe. Glenn makes a lot of these hooks and sells them everywhere. a great example of a special project and can be done on a small lathe. Also of note is this is one of Glenn's first demonstrations
Turning a "Femisphere" by Peter Sporring February 17 2020
Peter describes how he will turn this strange looking object.
We start with 2 pieces of wood twice as wide as it is thick, and 2 times as long as it is wide.
then mount it and turn a cylinder
Turn the cylinder a constant diameter
this is the pattern for the Femisphere
Carefully measure and mark the centreline of the cylinder.
transfer the rest of the points from the drawing onto the cylinder.
This is where we draw the radius of the cove
Cut out the pattern and use itfor a template.
